Vision: To be rooted in Christ and connected to one another; building each other up and growing together
Rooted is for anyone between the ages of 19-49 and was created for fellowship, friendship and growing closer to God and to each other. We meet once a month for fellowship, devotionals, and fun! Our group activities vary each month from events held at the church, to cookouts and BBQs at a park. Some events include the whole family, while others are for the adults only.
The focus of Rooted encompasses two specific areas:
#1 Being rooted in Christ as the central theme
#2 Being connected together for strength, stability, relationship and growth
What does it mean to be rooted in Christ?
It's acknowledging that we cannot do anything apart from him. Being strengthened in our faith, obeying God’s word, living a life that is fruitful for the glory of God. This way of life begins with knowing Jesus as your Lord and Savior and then growing in spiritual wisdom and knowledge.
Colossians 2:6-7
So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness
Why is Christian fellowship important?
Through fellowship, we challenge and uplift one another, sharing what each one has learned from God's Word and holding each other accountable in our walk with God. It is essential for our spiritual growth and well-being.
Another word for fellowship is koinonia, which means "to have in common" or "to share". The early church continuously devoted themselves to fellowship (Acts 2:42) and we should do the same. As those who are united with Christ, we are to share the life of Christ with one another in a way that results in individual and corporate spiritual growth.
